2013 Sunset
Goodnight 2013
This 21 shot HDR-panoramic was shot on New Year's Eve 2013 as part of my Goodnight Series (I camp out every NYE to catch the last sunset of the year).  Barely enough room for a single tent, somehow we repeated this spot in 2015 with 12 people packed in tight--it was great fun!

Palau Pacific Resort
PPR Pano
The Palau Pacific Resort ("PPR") is one of my absolute favorite places to visit, especially after a long day working with the wonderful people of Palau.  I took my drone in 2016 to capture this pano view looking back into the private beach and bay, and as I look at this image I can't wait to get back next year.

Waianae Range
Wai'anae Heavan
I honestly don't remember taking this image!  We were descending from Mount Ka'ala, the highest point on Oahu, and I was pretty beat.  You can imagine my excitement when I found this on the memory card!  In the distance you can see the "golf ball" satellite tracking station at Ka'ena Point.

Sprague Lake
Double Sunburst
This is Sprague Lake, in Rocky Mountain National Park.  I had planned to shoot with the sun behind me, illuminating the mountains and fall color, but the clouds were not participating that early morning.  Instead we walked around the lake and as I continued to look towards the mountain, Erin turned me around and pointed out what I was missing!  I stopped my lens down to get the sunburst, only later realizing there was a second one from the sun's reflection!

Manta Ray Bay Hotel
Sunset on Yap
I was fortunate enough to visit the island of Yap which is part of the Federated States of Micronesia.  Famous for the manta ray diving here, this shot looks back on the fabulous Manta Ray Bay Hotel (where the large ship moored in front serves as both restaurant and bar).

Goodnight 2011
Goodnight 2011
The first in the Goodnight Series, where I try to capture the last sunset of each year by camping out on NYE.  Honestly I just wanted a break from the party chaos of NYE, and spending it with my dog in a tent sounded great.  I thought it was going to be an epic failure, as the top of Kuli'ou'ou Ridge was totally socked in.  As I descended and got below the cloud layer this popped into view and started a tradition!

Williamson from Manzanar
Manzanar Memorial
The Manzanar War Relocation Camp in Owen's Valley is a must-see history lesson so we don't repeat our mistakes.  I always enjoy this spot for the view and quiet reflection on what happened at this place during WWII.

Hanauma Bay
Hanauma Sunrise
Hanauma Bay is a VERY popular spot--at times you can hardly see the beach with all the people on it!  But if you go early enough it can be a relaxing and refreshing way to begin the day.  This day was clear, and I captured the sun just as it peaked above Moloka'i in the distance.
